FRUIT & NUT MIX xx

Just like my breakfast crunch and my salad topper this is made up of all the leftover things I have in my cupboard! Nuts, dried fruit and seeds!

I wouldn’t exactly call this a recipe, its more inspiration for when you are looking for healthy snacks ‘on the go’ and literally takes 2 minutes to make! I make a big jar and then take what I need when I’m in a rush!

The beauty of making your own is that you are in control of what goes in it! Often ‘trail mix’ from the supermarket can be laden with artificially sweetened fruit, chocolate, sulphites a mixture of bad oils and is the more expensive option! I try to concentrate on natural, unsweetened, organic, raw ingredients to make mine.

You will need:

1/2 cup raw mixed nuts (almonds, brazils, pistachios hazelnuts etc)

1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut flakes

1/2 cup of unsweetened dried fruit (apricots, raisins, cranberries, goji berries, banana etc)

1/2 cup of raw seeds (sunflower, pumpkin etc)

Method:

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl
  • Limit your portion to about a handful when you are looking for a snack
  • Enjoy x x
