Appearing at Vivid Ideas Festival 2016
As part of my prize for Rising Social Star I got to appear for the Vivid Ideas Festival at one of my favourite venues the Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay. Vivid Sydney is a 23 day light, music and ideas festival that runs every year and the way that Sydney is lit up during this time is out of this world with light sculptures, installations and amazing projections onto iconic buildings such as the bridge and opera house.
Vivid ideas festival is Asia-Pacifics annual celebration of innovation, creativity and community and aims to promote creative industries and offer professional development for those involved in the industry or want to learn. I was part of a talk run by the Remarkables Group called: 'Taking it to the next level: Expert Advice for Digital Influencers'. The aim of this talk was for influencers to engage and learn from top industry professionals about how they can take their channel to the next level. The speakers included:
The Collective Hub
Kate McKibbin, Secret Bloggers' Business & Drop Dead Gorgeous Daily
Jen Bishop, Interiors Addict
Jim Butcher, Mr & Mrs Romance
Monty Dimond, Show + Tell & Kiis FM
Lorraine Murphy, The Remarkables Group
Before the 'experts' took to the stage Lorraine invited all of the RSS winners to answer some questions about our channel and to offer any advice we may have for people who are new to social media and just starting out. It was so nice being able to talk about my journey so far and hopefully offer some useful advice for the audience and it was actually really great for me to listen to what all of the other winners had to say.
We are all constantly learning and I believe the more we share and embrace one another's journey the more we will succeed and lift each other up. Surround yourself with positive people and those who believe in everything you are doing, then nothing will get in your way.I love learning from others and in return I also love educating so this was such a great experience. Thanks the Remarkables GroupSophie x x
