Being mindful with plant power eating: Be Natural
sponsored by Be Natural
Hey guys,I’m sure you all know by now that I’ve been a Pescatarian most of my life (since the age of seven!). That’s not to say I’ve always adopted the ‘healthy’ approach though………far from it! It’s only in the last few years that I’ve understood how ‘healthy’ actually makes me feel and how it has had a big impact on my food choices, my exercise regime, my quiet time and my general wellbeing.
Even though I eat fish and seafood I would say I eat vegetarian about 70% of the time…it’s for no other reason other than I just really love vegetarian food and I seem to have more veggie options in my repertoire. Recently, I was asked by Be Natural to try their new cereal range and it was brought to my attention that eating a plant based diet can be even easier than before with their quick and easy plant based options in their cereals, protein bars, and granola.
Plant powered foods have plenty of benefits as we can see from those who live in the Blue Zones (these are places that have the highest proportion of centenarians compared to other areas of the world!). Research indicates that these people partake in regular exercise and their diet is high in quality plant based nutrients.I am not saying we have to be at the gym for a few hours a day and we are only going to eat vegetables from now for this to be achievable! But…taking small steps to incorporate these healthy lifestyle changes into our lives will help with our own health and wellbeing and the new Be Natural range makes these choices so much more accessible.
The range:
During my time trying their new range I have really enjoyed: Be Natural Coco-nutty Granola with coconut, spelt and fig.
I LOVE exotic flavours but I like the fact this is just as nice with coconut water as it is with milk or yoghurt. If you’re feeling like you need a bit of hydration this could be the perfect post-workout brekkie for you if you top it with coconut water – so delicious and refreshing for summer!
Sometimes, even I get caught out with no protein balls to hand or freshly chopped fruit. The Be Natural snack bars are perfect for when you are on-the-go. Running to your early morning boot-camp or for your mid-afternoon pick me up these are great to throw in your gym bag or handbag. I especially loved the Almond, Cashew and Pepitas, Muesli and Quinoa bars as they are tasty and also include five healthy whole grains topped with quinoa, almonds, cashews and pepitas. I managed to get through a whole box of these fairly quickly in one of my busy weeks!
